Healing and Forgiven
Believing the Word of God! In 1 Cor 12:9; we read that the gifts (plural) of healing is given, why give these gifts if it is not for us to be healed and yes for today, and by some who has received the gift of healing from the Holy Spirit. And we do have the faith to believe for healing, an example would be Acts 14:9-10. Also we are told to ask for the elders of the church to pray for us, why if not that we can be healed. James 5:14-16, because we can receive healing if a righteous man prays for us. James 5:16. Jesus came not only for us to be spiritually healed but also for the healing of our diseases, Isaiah 53:5; Ps 103:3; Proverbs 4:20-22. 1 Peter 2:24; We also give health to the bones speaking plesent words Proverbs 16:24; Why put these scriptures in the bible if not for us to believe and receive the benefits of. Why bother with starting or having a church if this is not preached or proclaimed. (Forgiven and Healing)
Moreover Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing all kinds of diseases among the people. Mat 4:23.
Heb 13:8 tells me Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and for ever. He is still going around healing today as then.
So are we not sent out to do the same, in Jesus name?
We need to reference the Great Commission in Mark 16:14-18. Jesus is no longer here walking the earth in bodily form but He is still here in His Church so who are these gifts for? The benefits of these gifts are for us. And these gifts are for us to receive for use, and remember they are distributed to us by the Holy Spirit as He wills, 1 Cor 12:11. We can receive our healing now by the working of the Holy Spirit through the Church to those who believe and to those who believe that signs will follow. Mark 16:17-18; Mark 9:23; Mark 11:23-24; Matthew 21:22; John 15:7; 1John 5:14-15;
We have to look at Mat 8:16-17, and Jesus still heals today because of the cross. This tells me infirmities and sicknesses were included in the atonement. Isaiah 53:5; Ps 103:3; He had to die on the cross for the sacrifice and go back to heaven for the Holy Spirit to be sent. It is the churches job with the Holy Spirit to do the works that Jesus did. In the name of Jesus believing.
There are a number of reasons to not receive a healing: Not forgiving someone is a problem Eph 4:31-32, we can not keep walking around in an unforgiving manner, Mat 6:14-15, Mark 11:25-26, and then expect mercy for our selves. Men not honoring your wife, hinder prayers 1 Pet 3:7; not keeping his commandments and pleasing Him 1 John 3:22; not discerning the Lords body 1 Cor 11:29-30, (we need to examine ourselves,) to name a few but ask God for wisdom here. James 1:5. Remember don´t give up, keep believing, keep asking, Mat 7:7 and be persistent. Luke 18:1-7.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb 11:1.
When you have substance in your hope nothing is impossible.
Belief is something accepted as truth. Truth in the goodness, faithfulness and character of God.
Faith does believe what you can't see. It believes that God will fulfill His promises before we see any proof or evidence of it, because faith is your proof and evidence. This is the Abraham kind of faith. Rom 4:20-21; Heb 6:15; Putting faith to that hope brings the promise.
I'm not talking about works that we do to force God to do for us. It has already been given, to receive something, it as to be given. Do we know what as been given? So we need to receive by faith what God has already given.
Reading in Eph 2:1 talking about the sinful state of man. And you He made alive who were dead in trespasses and sin. You see what can I say to that? Thank you doesn't seem to be enough. It is the greatest thing in the world to know you have been forgiven. I was a walking dead man. I was spiritually dead. I was destroying my life in trespasses and sin, unstoppable with no hope. I could not stop my downward spiral, but wait; on the way down to death or very close to it something changed, Jesus happened and that is the wonderful thing of this life, I listened to and then sought out more of this mystery. James 1:22.
It is true and I believed it and the reality of that truth came alive, where Jesus made things in my life better, not that trials, struggles, and circumstances don't happen, but I am not a walking dead man anymore. I am alive in the Spirit, you see I am forgiven, and when you know this, that's when you will change when you believe and if you are willing, you will become a new person in Christ Jesus a better person searching for the deep things of God and what He has for you.
